Universität Bayreuth
The University of Bayreuth was founded in 1975 and is one of the most successful young universities in Germany. In the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Ranking, it is ranked 45th out of the world's 475 best universities under the age of 50, and in the QS World University Ranking it is in the top ten percent of the world's 5,500 universities. Interdisciplinary research and teaching is the main characteristic of Bayreuth's 170 degree programs at seven faculties in the natural sciences and engineering, law and economics, as well as linguistics, literature and cultural studies. The University of Bayreuth has around 12,500 students, 1,601 academic staff - including 274 professors - and 1016 non-academic employees on the campus in Bayreuth and at the branch office in Kulmbach.
